The Danish Energy Agency was established in 1976, and is an agency under the Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate. The Agency employs approximately 500 people. The Danish Energy Agency is responsible for tasks linked to energy production, supply and consumption, as well as Danish efforts to reduce carbon emissions. The Danish Energy Agency’s Center for Global Cooperation partner with other countries and share the Danish experiences on shaping an energy system that combines a green, low-carbon and reliable energy supply with economic growth. The experience that Denmark has acquired through more than 40 years of experience in transforming and greening its energy system now serves as inspiration to countries around the world.
